Tired of PT That Doesn’t Actually Work?
Most physical therapy clinics in DC run you through a crowded room, hand you off to an aide, and send you home with the same generic exercises. If you’re still in pain, still sitting out, still frustrated—you’re not alone.
Double-Booked & Rushed
You’re one of four patients your therapist is juggling at once. You never get the focused attention your injury actually needs to heal.
Cookie-Cutter Treatment Plans
Insurance-driven clinics follow protocols, not people. Your goals—whether that’s the Marine Corps Marathon or your morning Pilates class—don’t factor in.
Discharged Before You’re Ready
You hit your insurance cap, not your recovery goal. The gap between “cleared” and “performing” is exactly where most clinics let you fall through.
Why DC Athletes Choose PHYT for Physical Therapy
The PHYT Collective was built for people who take their performance seriously. Whether you’re rehabbing a surgical repair, managing a chronic overuse injury, or just trying to keep up with your training—you deserve a therapist who knows your name, understands your goals, and shows up 100% for the entire hour. We bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance so you come back stronger, not just symptom-free.
• A full hour with your licensed provider—no aides, no interruptions, no double-booking, ever
• Cash-based care with transparent pricing and courtesy insurance billing through our partner, Big Sky Billing—we handle the paperwork so you don’t have to
• Advanced techniques including functional dry needling, running gait analysis, blood flow restriction training, and pelvic floor PT—all under one roof

Real Results

“Super knowledgeable and personable. They actually give you 1-on-1 time with a physical therapist for the entire duration of your visit—unlike many PT places I’ve visited previously. Highly recommend Ashley, Rachel, and the whole PHYT team!”

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your first visit to The PHYT Collective in Washington, DC.
Do you accept insurance?
The PHYT Collective is a cash-based practice, which means your care is never limited or dictated by what your insurance company will approve. We partner with Big Sky Billing to submit courtesy claims to your insurance on your behalf—so you get the benefits of cash-pay care without the paperwork headache. We’ll provide you with a detailed receipt for any out-of-network reimbursement you may be eligible for. Transparent pricing, no surprise bills.
What is functional dry needling, and do I have to get it done?
Functional dry needling is an evidence-based technique where thin, sterile needles are inserted into trigger points and tight musculature to relieve pain, reduce tension, and restore mobility. It is completely optional—your therapist will always explain the technique, answer your questions, and get your consent before proceeding. Many patients find it highly effective, but it is never required as part of your treatment plan.
Do you offer pelvic floor physical therapy?
Yes. Dr. Blake Cooper, PT, DPT, CAPP-Pelvic is our dedicated pelvic floor specialist. She treats a wide range of conditions across all genders and life stages, including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, bowel dysfunction, and prenatal and postpartum rehabilitation. Pelvic floor PT sessions follow the same 1:1, full-hour care model as all of our services.
